December is a very special month for SSE Riga. While all students are gradually finishing with their studies and preparing for winter holidays (or for re-exams, for that matter), there is one last major event that brings dozens of people from all over Europe to the school - the annual debate tournament SSE Riga IV. Exchange hit-parade

Coming from different backgrounds and with different experience, we, exchange students, have an alternative perspective on what is worth visiting in Riga and Latvia. For most of us the exchange year is the year of our dreams and personal development (maybe only for some of us :) when we are finally doing what we always wanted to do. We are here for a limited period of time: some will stay only for one semester, some (the lucky ones) - for one year. However, there is still not enough time to explore all hidden corners of Riga and Latvia. Thus, we feel a strong need to share our discoveries about places in Riga that should be definitely visited. We conducted a detailed survey among exchange students; therefore, we believe this article is based on true life stories.Read more >>

Newcomers' Camp

Every August the most wanted event for newly admitted SSE Riganians is surely the Newcomers’ Camp. It is a chance to meet your new fellow students and experience the very first SSE Riga party as a fully accepted member. However, for Year 2 students who organize this event it is an awesome opportunity to check out the “fresh meat” before the rest of the SSE Riga dwellers.

Pub Ala

In the last Insider issue we went to the United States through Route US 66. This time we will stay at “home”, right here in Latvia!

On November 28th the first folk music club in Riga and Latvia “Ala” (the Cave) was opened. Here one can enjoy Latvian folk music, do the folk-dances and taste traditional food.
